Usage/Dosage

For hypertension:
In general, for adults, take 0.5 to 1 tablet (2.5 to 5 mg of amlodipine) at a time, once a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms. If its effect is insufficient, the dosage may be increased up to 2 tablets (10 mg), once a day. In general, for children 6 years old or over, take 0.5 tablet (2.5 mg) at a time, once a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age, body weight or symptoms. However, the maximum daily dose is 1 tablet (5 mg).
For angina pectoris:
In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (5 mg of amlodipine) at a time, once a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms.
In any case, strictly follow the instructions.
You can moisten the tablet with saliva on your tongue, then crush it lightly with your tongue, and swallow the tablet with saliva. Do not take the tablet without water when you are lying down.
If you miss a dose and have hypertension, do not take the missed dose on that day and follow your regular dosing schedule from the following day. If you have angina pectoris, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

This medicine may cause dizziness due to decreased blood pressure. Pay close attention when working at heights or operating dangerous machinery, such as driving a car.
Avoid taking grapefruit juice with this medicine, since it may intensify medicinal effects.
If you are breastfeeding, avoid breastfeeding while taking this medicine.
Keep out of the reach of children. Store at room temperature (1 to 30 degrees Celsius) away from light and moisture.
Discard the remainder. Do not store them. Ask your pharmacy or medical institution on how to discard the remainder. Do not give this medicine to anyone else.

Contraindication

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include liver dysfunction, edema, hot flush (sensation of heat/flushing of the face), palpitation, decreased blood pressure, dizziness/light headedness, headache/dull headache, epigastric pain, constipation, nausea/vomiting, rash, itch, hives, photosensitivity, erythema multiforme, vasculitis, angioedema, gingival hypertrophy and general malaise. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
general malaise, loss of appetite, yellow discoloration of the skin and the white of eyes [fulminant hepatitis, liver dysfunction, jaundice]
fever, sore throat, bleeding tendency[agranulocytosis, decreased white blood cell, decreased platelets]
bradycardia, dizziness, syncope[atrioventricular block]
muscle pain, lassitude, reddish brown urine[rhabdomyolysis]
