  • Description
      This medicine increases bile secretion and thereby improves the bile flow. This medicine replaces hydrophobic bile acids in the liver, resulting in alleviation of hepatotoxicity. Moreover, this medicine inhibits cytokine/chemokine production and the infiltration of inflammatory cells into the liver, leading to improvement of liver dysfunction. In addition to these effects, this medicine provides dissolution of gallstones and improvement of digestion and absorption.Usually, it is used to treat disease of biliary system and liver disease resulting from bile flow retention, improve dyspepsia after small intestine resection and that in inflammatory disease of small intestine, dissolve cholesterol gallstones, and improve liver function in chlonic liver disease, primary biliary cirrhosis and chronic liver disease due to hepatitis C virus

  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine promotes bile secretion and improves the bile flow, resulting in dissolving or suppressing production of cholesterol gallstones. It also improves liver functions by increasing blood flow in the liver and protecting the liver and indigestion by promoting fat absorption.
  • Usage/Dosage
      As a cholagogue, and for improvements of liver function and indigestion: In general, for adults, take 0.5 tablets (50 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, three times a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the disease, age or symptoms.
      For dissolution of gallstones: In general, for adults, take 2 tablets (200 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, three times a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms.
      For improvements of liver function in primary biliary cirrhosis/chronic hepatitis C: In general, for adults, take 2 tablets (200 mg of the active ingredient) at a time, three times a day. The dosage may be adjusted according to the disease, age or symptoms. However, the maximum daily dose is 9 tablets (900 mg).
      In any case, strictly follow the instructions.
      If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Cautions
      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you have complete biliary obstruction or fulminant hepatitis.
      If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
      Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
      Discard the remainder. Do not store them.
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include diarrhea, nausea, constipation, gastric distress, abdominal bloating, itch, rash, hives and erythema (erythema exsudativum multiforme). If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
      fever, dry cough, respiratory distress [interstitial pneumonia]
