It is usually used to treat hypertension (essential or renal hypertension) and malignant hypertension.

Usage/Dosage
-
In general, for adults, start by taking 1 to 3 tablets (250 to 750 mg as non-hydrate form of the active ingredient) a day, and increase the dose by 1 tablet (250 mg) a day in intervals of at least few days until the effect of the medicine is obtained. As maintenance dose, take 1 to 8 tablets (250 to 2,000 mg) a day in 1 to 3 divided doses. The dosage may be adjusted according to your age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult your doctor/pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

Cautions

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines or foods.
If you have acute hepatitis, active stage of chronic hepatitis or liver cirrhosis.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
This medicine may cause sleepiness or feeling of weakness. Be careful when working at heights, driving a car, or operating dangerous machinery.
Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Discard the remainder. Do not store them.

Contraindication

The most commonly reported adverse reactions include dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, feeling of weakness, sleepiness and thirst. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
general malaise, loss of appetite, yellow discoloration of the skin or the white of the eyes[hepatitis]
headache, fever, difficulty in stopping bleeding[hemolytic anemia, leukopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia]
breathing difficulty, general edema[congestive heart failure]
headache, nausea/vomiting, involuntary movement of limbs and face[cerebrovascular insufficiency symptoms, choreoathetoid movements, bilateral Bell's palsy]
pain in the chest, pressured feeling/constricted feeling, cold sweat[induction of angina attack]
