  • Description
      This medicine suppresses uric acid production by inhibiting xanthine oxidase, resulting in decreased amount of uric acid in the blood and urine.

      It is usually used to improve hyperuricemia in patients with gout or hypertension associated with hyperuricemia.
  • Feature
      White to faintly yellowish white tablet
  • Effect/Efficacy
      This medicine suppresses uric acid production by inhibiting xanthine oxidase, resulting in decreased amount of uric acid in the blood and urine.

      It is usually used to improve hyperuricemia in patients with gout or hypertension associated with hyperuricemia.
  • Usage/Dosage
      ○ General dosage:

        ● For adults, take 4 to 6 tablets (200 to 300 mg of the active ingredient) a day, in 2 to 3 divided doses, after meals.
        ● The dosage may be adjusted according to the age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.

      ○ If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. You should never take two doses at one time.
      ○ If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      ○ Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Contraindication
      ● The most commonly reported adverse reactions are following symptoms.. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
         - include rash, itch, joint pain, anemia, purpura, lymphadenopathy, abnormal renal function, loss of appetite, gastric distress, loose stool, diarrhea, general malaise and loss of hair

      ● The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
        - fever, redness and swelling of skin/mucosa with rash or blisters, swelling of lymph nodes (neck, area behind the ear, armpit, groin, etc.) [serious skin disorder such as toxic epidermal  
        - necrolysis/mucocutaneous ocular syndrome/exfoliative dermatitis, hypersensitivity vasculitis, drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome]
        - dizziness, respiratory distress, redness with generalized itching [shock, anaphylaxis]
        - general malaise, fever, bleeding tendency [aplastic anemia, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, decreased platelets]
        - general malaise, loss of appetite, yellow discoloration of the skin and the white of eyes [serious liver dysfunction such as fulminant hepatitis, jaundice]
        - decreased urine output, edema, general malaise [renal failure, worsening of renal failure, renal disorder including interstitial nephritis]

      The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
