  • Description
      This medicine acts on serotonin receptors 1B in cerebral blood vessels to constrict dilated cerebral blood vessels and affects serotonin receptors 1D in the trigeminal nerve to suppress release of substances which dilates blood vessels. And it consequently relieves migraine pain.
      It is usually used in the treatment of migraine.

  • Effect/Efficacy

      It is usually used in the treatment of migraine.
  • Usage/Dosage
      In general, for adults, take 1 tablet (10 mg of rizatriptan) at a time, when migraine pain develops. If the effect of the medicine is insufficient, you may take another tablet after waiting for 2 hours or over from the first administration. However, the daily dosage is limited to 2 tablets (20 mg) in total. Strictly follow the instructions.
      The medicine should be taken only when migraine pain develops. Do not take it to prevent migraine pain while migraine pain does not appear.
      If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
  • Cautions
      The medicine may cause drowsiness. Avoid driving a car or operating dangerous machinery after taking the medicine.

      If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rach, etc.) to any medicines.
      If you are a patient with myocardial infarction, ischemic heart disease, cerebrovascular disorder, transient ischemic attack, peripheral vascular disorder, hypertension or hepatic dysfunction.
      If you are receiving hemodialysis.
      If you are prone to epileptic seizure or convulsive seizure.
      If you are taking any other medicine for migraine ( Cleamine, Dihydergot, Ergometrin maleate F, Methergin, Imigran, Zomig, Relpax or Amerge).
      If you are taking propranolol hydrochloride (Inderal).
      If you are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAO inhibitors) or it is 14 days or less after withdrawal of it.
      If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
      If you are taking any other medicinal products. (Some medicines may interact to enhance or diminish medicinal effects. Beware of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements as well as other prescription medicines.)
  • Contraindication
      The most commonly reported adverse reactions include somnolence, malaise, weakness, nausea, vomit, dry mouth, dizziness, urticaria, rash and pruritus. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
      The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
      breathing difficulty, urticaria, dizziness, cold sweat  [anaphylactic shock, anaphylaxis]
      dizziness, chest pain, chest oppressing feeling  [arrhythmia, angina pectoris or ischemic heart disease-like symptoms including myocardial infarction]
      convulsion, unconsciousness  [epilepsy-like seizure]
      swelling of face, tongue, or throat; breathing difficulty; urticaria  [angioedema]
      fever, wide spread of red rash, skin peels when you rub with fingers  [toxic epidermal necrosis]
      shortness of breath, hard to breathe  [breathing difficulty]
      unconsciousness [syncope]
      The above symptoms do not describe all the adverse reactions to this medicine. Consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any symptoms of concern other than those listed above.
